Ichungwa udges Genzs not to destroy country over politics
Kikuyu MP Kimani Ichung’wah has called on Malindi residents to promote national unity and avoid destroying the country over political disagreements.
Speaking at an Economic Empowerment Programme held at Jilore Grounds in Kilifi County on July 4, 2025, Ichung’wah stressed the importance of peace and cohesion, urging citizens to rise above political divisions.
“I appeal to you to live in peace and unity as fellow Kenyans in this God-given country. As President William Ruto said—even if you dislike Kimani Ichung’wah, Governor Mung’aro, your MP, or any other leader—do not destroy your country because of politics,” he said.
Ichung’wah encouraged Kenyans to focus on initiatives that uplift lives and to avoid being misled by leaders lacking clear development agendas.
“Leaders will come and go, but the country endures. Let’s also teach our children to reject divisive politics and support efforts that improve livelihoods,” he added.
Deputy President Kithure Kindiki, who also attended the event, echoed these sentiments, urging Kenyans to remain vigilant against politicians attempting to exploit them.
Kindiki described Kenya’s political landscape as now divided between leaders focused on development and those driven by outdated, divisive politics.
He affirmed that the inclusive government led by President William Ruto and former Prime Minister Raila Odinga is steering the country toward tangible progress.
“We have come together under a broad-based government focused on development. We are united in moving Kenya forward—this is a team committed to Kazi Bila Break,” he said.
The Deputy President criticised opposition figures for lacking clear policies, accusing them of relying on slogans and personality-driven politics.
“The other group has nothing to offer. When asked what they’ll do for Kenyans, all they say is ‘Kasongo One Term’ or ‘Ruto Must Go.’ That’s not a development agenda. Most of them failed in their past roles,” he remarked.
Kindiki emphasized that the Kenya Kwanza administration is dedicated to delivering inclusive and equitable development across all regions—unlike their rivals, whom he accused of perpetuating divisive and exclusionary politics.
